VROM™ Technology Overview

Vertical Resonant Oscillatory Mixing (VROM) is a bladeless mixing method that processes materials in sealed mixing vessels. VROM systems are engineered to rapidly move the vessels up and down (vertically oscillate) nominally 60-times a second with up to 100 g of acceleration, mixing a broad range of materials including liquids, viscous pastes, powders and solids.

The oscillatory motion imparted on the mix vessel transfers energy into the contained materials through impact, shear, friction and differential pressure. Temperature and pressure controls are available for additional processing inputs. 

Designed for batch processing from development through production, VROM systems are based on a common electro-mechanical architecture, enabling seamless scale-up.

VROM systems are designed to operate at carefully controlled mechanical resonance. By harnessing the power of resonance, the incredible forces generated are remarkably efficient, meaning most of the energy consumed goes straight to the mix. Generally, this makes resonant mixing significantly faster than traditional mixing methods. 

Superior Mixing System - MixOS™

All VROM mixers are easily and effectively operated with MixOS, which can be conveniently accessed from any Wi-Fi-enabled device from PC to tablet. Operators can control VROM systems manually, via pre-defined recipes, or through our proprietary POWER input method.

Firmware updates are available over-the-air, so your system will always be up-to-date. MixOS also enables quick access to user manuals and other documentation all from a common, intuitive interface.

Smart Controls

MixIQ™ puts the power of data in VROM users' hands, speeding up development and minimizing waste. This advanced sensing technology allows VROM users to gauge the motion of the mix material during processing to optimize power to the mix and avoid non-ideal mixing flow regimes.

Real-time data is easy to access and export, enabling power users to fine tune their processing recipes. Conventional resonant mixers simply do not offer this level of control or data output.

Engineered for Reliability

VROM systems are purpose built for long-term durability and low-maintenance operation. Unlike competing resonant mixers, VROM eliminates vibrating sensors and electrical power cables within the mechanical system.
